Our Cosmetic Dentistry Services

  • Cosmetic Tooth Colored Fillings (Composite & Porcelain)
Resin fillings, also referred to as composite, white fillings or bonding, can make a substantial improvement in the appearance and strength of the teeth in a short period of time. Resin is what dentists use to repair small to medium cavities or chips in front teeth, as well as fill cavities cosmetically in back teeth. Bonded Porcelain fillings can be fabricated for medium to large cavities. Beautiful and strong porcelain fillings can be fabricated in our office in a single visit with the CEREC 3 3D restorative system. Composite can also be utilized as a less expensive alternative to porcelain veneers with respect to improving the appearance of the teeth. However, composite veneers do not have the color stability or longevity of a porcelain restoration.
  • Whitening (Tooth Bleaching) Zoom! In-Office Whitening System

zoom teeth whiteningWhat is Zoom! Tooth Whitening? If you're looking for a fast way to dramatically whiten your teeth, Zoom! chairside whitening system may be the answer for you. Zoom! Take-Home System
Zoom! Take-Home Whitening System uses a patent-pending chemistry to whiten your teeth in just three nights. This special formula helps increase whitening in two ways. First, revolutionary surfactant technology helps improve gel penetration. Second, a new activation matrix helps control the release of oxygen into the teeth. As a result, whitening takes weeks with other products and as little as a weekend with Zoom!

  • Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing their color, shape, size or length. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth. Porcelain veneers can be an integral part of your smile makeover, providing beautiful, natural appearing teeth.
  • Bonding
The dental bonding procedure utilizes a composite resin and is used for a variety of structural as well as cosmetic purposes. By using dental composite resin bonding we can restore chipped or broken teeth, fill in gaps and reshape or recolor your smile.
  • Cosmetic Contouring and Reshaping
Recontouring or reshaping of the tooth is a procedure in which small amounts of enamel are removed to change a tooth's length, shape, or surface. Recontouring is a very conservative cosmetic treatment. It is a quick and painless procedure whose results can be seen immediately. The procedure is usually done to improve appearance of the front teeth. Recontouring is an effective method to correct minor imperfections, such as: fixing small chips in the tooth, smoothing out bulges or pits in a tooth's enamel, adjusting slight irregular tooth shapes caused by too many or uneven teeth, adjusting the length of the teeth.
  • Porcelain Crowns/Onlays
cerecA crown is needed when a tooth is badly broken; there are existing large fillings, or a large area of tooth decay. In the front of the mouth a porcelain crown looks exactly like a tooth and is much more natural and beautiful than an older metal based crown. Done well it is very difficult for people to tell that it isn't real. On back teeth we may do what are called porcelain onlays. These are very similar to crowns, and sometimes the terms are used interchangeably. Using the term onlay, however, means that we are removing less of the tooth, leaving the healthy tooth structure alone as much as possible. With an onlay, since we can keep the margins away from the gum, we greatly reduce the tendency for gum inflammation that can occur with dental crowns. It also is metal-free. All porcelain crowns and onlays can be made in our office in a single visit using the CEREC 3 3D CAD/CAM restorative system.
  • Tooth Replacement Options
If you're missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. There are options to help restore your smile:
    • Bridges
Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. The restoration can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support. Unlike a removable bridge, which you can take out and clean, a fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist. Today we can fabricate bridges out of modern, metal free tooth colored materials that look beautiful and are strong.
    • Dental Implants
Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture. Implants offer stability because they fuse to your bone. Integration of the implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. A thorough evaluation by your dentist will help determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants. Dental implants can now be restored with natural tooth colored materials rather than the traditional metal colored materials.
    • Removable Complete and Partial Dentures
If you've lost all of your natural teeth, whether from periodontal disease, tooth decay or injury, complete dentures can replace your missing teeth and your smile. Replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. You'll be able to eat and speak—things that people often take for granted until their natural teeth are lost.

There are various types of complete dentures. A conventional full denture is made and placed in the patient's mouth after the remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed which may take several months. An immediate complete denture is inserted as soon as the remaining teeth are removed. The dentist takes measurements and makes models of the patient's jaws during a preliminary visit. With immediate dentures, the denture wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period.

Partial dentures can also be made to replace a portion of missing teeth if you still have some healthy natural teeth remaining. Removable partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases, which are connected by metal framework. Metal-free partial dentures can also be fabricated for those who do not wish to see or are allergic to metals.

  • Orthodontics/Invisalign
Orthodontic treatment can improve your dental health and change your facial appearance for the better, and it can boost your self-esteem. It can provide you with the chance to participate in improving the way you look. Patients often feel more self-confident even before treatment is completed. We offer an array of orthodontic options for minor changes to full orthodontics. We offer a full array of options including Invisalign, the clear alternative to traditional braces.

invisalignInvisalign treatment involves a series of clear, plastic trays called "aligners" that are custom fabricated to precisely fit the patient's teeth. They are worn full-time and are only removed when eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. Aligners move the teeth gradually as each new aligner is inserted every 2-3 weeks, depending on the patient's treatment plan.

Invisalign aligners are virtually "invisible", very comfortable and allow the patient to eat without the restrictions that traditional metal braces can impose. Though every patient may not be a candidate for treatment with Invisalign, it is an option for many adults who wouldn't otherwise opt for orthodontic treatment with metal or ceramic braces. Invisalign allows people to straighten their teeth without anyone even knowing they're having orthodontic treatment!

Many teenagers can now be treated with Invisalign's "Invisalign Teen" program. Compliance in wearing the aligners must be followed, however, in order to attain the best results and complete treatment within the estimated time. Invisalign teen is a wonderful option for teens who are opposed to treatment with traditional metal braces, but desire a beautiful smile.

  • Gingival Recontouring
Gingival tissue (gum) can be recontoured in order to improve esthetics. Uneven gum tissue can cause problems with your smile. Minor adjustments to the gingiva are simple, and requires minimal healing time. Gingival recontouring is commonly used in conjunction with cosmetic procedures such as porcelain veneers and crowns to improve the overall outcome of the final cosmetic result.
